Huang (Taiwan)
Hsin-Yun Huang
established herself as one of the leading violists of her generation
in September 1993 by capturing the top prize at the International
Competition of the ARD in Munich. As a result
of this and other prizes, she has been
telecast in concerto appearances with the Bayerischer Rundfunk
Orchestra in Munich, the Zagreb Soloists in
Paris, and the Tokyo Philharmonic in
Tokyo. Other appearances included solos with the Berlin Radio
Orchestra and the Russian State Philharmonic. In constant demand in
the U.S. and in her native Taiwan, Ms. Huang
has performed in festivals including
the Marlboro Music Festival, Prussia Cove, Summerfest La Jolla,
and the Taipei International Chamber Music
Festival. As a member of the Borromeo
Quartet from 1994 to 2000, she has performed all over the world,
appearing in such prominent venues as New York’s
Alice Tully Hall, London’s Wigmore
Hall, Berlin’s Philharmonie, Japan’s Casals’s Hall, and the
Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
