Hsin-Yun Huang (Taiwan)

Hsin-Yun Huang established herself as one of the leading violists of her generation in September 1993 by capturing the top prize at the International Competition of the ARD in Munich. As a result of this and other prizes, she has been telecast in concerto appearances with the Bayerischer Rundfunk Orchestra in Munich, the Zagreb Soloists in Paris, and the Tokyo Philharmonic in Tokyo. Other appearances included solos with the Berlin Radio Orchestra and the Russian State Philharmonic. In constant demand in the U.S. and in her native Taiwan, Ms. Huang has performed in festivals including the Marlboro Music Festival, Prussia Cove, Summerfest La Jolla, and the Taipei International Chamber Music Festival. As a member of the Borromeo Quartet from 1994 to 2000, she has performed all over the world, appearing in such prominent venues as New York’s Alice Tully Hall, London’s Wigmore Hall, Berlin’s Philharmonie, Japan’s Casals’s Hall, and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
