Fan (United States)
Cellist
Felix Fan was born in Boston, grew up in La Jolla, and presently
resides in Paris and New York. A talented soloist and chamber
musician, Mr. Fan has a flair for eclectic programming. His
recent debut recital at the Salle Cortot in Paris included works by
Beethoven, Crumb, Carter, and Piazzolla. Mr. Fan has performed
with musicians such as Yo-Yo Ma, Heiichiro Ohyama, and Cho-Liang Lin
at festivals in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. He has studied
with Janos Starker and Boris Pergamenschikov. Mr. Fan created
Muzik3 in 1998, and continues to serve as its Artistic Director.
He plays on the "Haussman" Stradivarius of 1724.
